LLCi�fty <br />Louisville <br />Proclamation for Ukraine <br />WHEREAS, The City of Louisville stands in unwavering solidarity with the people of <br />the sovereign nation of Ukraine as they defend themselves against Russia's <br />unprovoked invasion and war against their democracy and sovereign right to exist <br />as an independent nation; and <br />WHEREAS, The City of Louisville stands with other countries, private corporations, <br />religious leaders, states and cities from around the world in condemning this <br />horrific act of aggression by Russia, and demands the immediate cessation of all <br />hostilities; and <br />WHEREAS, In these moments of crisis, the leadership demonstrated by President <br />Zelensky, members of the Ukrainian armed forces and the citizens of Ukraine are a <br />beacon of resolve and commitment to democratic principles and values; and <br />NOW THEREFORE, I, Ashley Stolzmann, Mayor of the City of Louisville, and the City <br />Council do hereby <br />1. Condemn the acts of Russian aggression; <br />2. Support the government and people of the sovereign nation of Ukraine; and <br />3. Urge the Louisville community to contribute resources to aid the people of <br />Ukraine <br />DATED this 5t" day of April 2022. <br />
