Per City Council Meeting Minutes, this proclamation <br />was presented during the April 17, 1990 meeting. <br />EARTH DAY PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, Earth Day represents a global effort to create a <br />safe, sustainable environment and; <br />WHEREAS, this year will mark the 20th year Earth Day has <br />been celebrated and; <br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville supports natural resource <br />management and; <br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville promotes recycling, water <br />conservation, energy conservation and other <br />positive environmental action and; <br />WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of all citizens to work <br />toward improving the environment, <br />NOW THEREFORE, I, Herm Fauson, do declare April 22nd as Earth <br />Day in Louisville and challenge each of our <br />citizens to adopt environmentally sound actions <br />to promote, protect and restore the Earth's <br />environment. <br />
