REGULAR MEETING LOUISVILLE CITY COUNCIL MARCH 21, 1978 Mayor Waschak called the regular meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. with the following Council members present: DiCarlo, Meier, Caranci, Kilker and DelPizzo. Absent: Councilman DiLorenzo. Others present: City Administrator Wur1, City Attorney Joss, City Treasurer Hesson, City Engineer Jicinsky, City Planner Drumm and City Clerk Stahl. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES ENCLOSURERS COUNCIL ITEMS KENNETH DUKES CONSTRUCTION FINAL PAY ESTIMATE SEWER PLANT TOM BENSON REPRESENTING TRIP - TAX RELIEF IS POSSIBILE GROUP Mayor Waschak and Council approved the minutes of the March 7, 1978, Council meeting as presented. Councilman Caranci moved that enc1o- surers be accepted and brought up under the proper head of business. Seconded by Councilman DiCarlo. Motion carried Councilman DelPizzo stated that he was not happy with some of the project and felt that the paYment should not be made until everything is repaired and installed. He noted that the water is running slowly through the weirs and felt that algae will form. He also commented on the cho1orination chamber valve, the smoothing of the road and the laboratory. Mr. Wur1 stated that this is the first time he has heard of some of the prob- lems. Mr. Wur1 noted that the con- tractor has scheduled to lower the weirs the variators will be put in and the gravel will be complete along with the hand raking, all which should be completed before the corning week. After comments Councilman DiCarlo moved that payment be held up until Council had a chance to inspect the plant for compliance. Seconded by Councilman Caranci. Roll call. Meier yes, Caranci yes, DelPizzo yes, Kilker yes. DiCarlo yes. Motion carried. Mro Wur1 stated that the matter needs to be resolved and felt that the matter should be looked at again in hopes that everything can be corrected. Mr. Benson stated that he is representing TRIP and is requesting that the Council take a position pertaining to the 1/2% sales tax for open space purchase by the County. He stated that many merchants are very unhappy and will be losing busi- ness to other counties with lower tax.
