<br />COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 1, 1972 <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Lawrence Caranci. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: <br /> <br />Following were present - Deborski, King, Jensen, Donovan, <br />Maxwell, Domenico. <br /> <br />ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES: Minutes stand approved as corrected. <br /> <br />ITEMS ON AGENDA: <br />1. Joe Madonna, Director of Solid Waste program for Boulder <br />County, explained they were working toward a County wide <br />management of Waste disposal. Stated it would cost the <br />.10, fer capita or approximately $250.00. Total cost of <br />of the plan would be $52,000. with some expected Federal <br />aide. Motion by Jensen that letter of inteBt to partici- <br />pate in the solid waste program. seconded by <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />2. Fire Department assistant Chief, Rudy Slavec, presented <br />plans for purchase of a new Fire Truck. Requested Council <br />per'1.ission to advertise for bids. Mayor appointed Deborski <br />and Maxwell to act with the Firemen and report to Council. <br />Truck would cost $47,000. plus. Motion by Maxwell that <br />invitation for bids be distribpted, Fire department to <br />work with finance committee and give recommendations to <br />the council l;ri th in the time definifef the inviataion to <br />to bid. Seconded by Domenico. Motion carried. <br /> <br />3. Mountain Bell - Easement through Miners Park. Tabled to <br />next meeting, no represenative present from Mountain Bell. <br /> <br />4. Police Comc!ission - Motion by Donovan seconded by Jensen <br />that acting Chief of Police, Dennis Munger, be appointed <br />Chief of Police, salary retroactive to January 10th. <br />Amendment'.to the Motion - Motion b.f Maxwell seconded by <br />DDpovan the probation period be for four mdnths retroactive <br />from January loth. <br />Amendment No.2 Donovan stated nintydays would be sufficient <br />Roll Call vote - Deborski No, King ,lies, Jensen Yes, Donovan <br />yes, Maxwell Yes, Domenico No. Motion carried. <br />Motion by Jensen that Gene Barday~b8 1lll!l8.i:. IiU8...~, salary <br />retroactive to January 10th. seconded by Domenico Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />5. Ken Bruns bill in the amount of $39,000. would pay to Jan. <br />10th. This matter to be discqssed more thourghly at the <br />work sesfion of January 7th. <br />
