COUNctL MEETING MAY 16, 1972 Regualr meeting called to order by Mayor pro tem Charles King. COMMITTEE REPORTS: PARKS & RECREATION: Cemetery: Nb Meeting Finance: Nlo Report Water: Debqrski had checked with several cities in regards to ~ater tap fees. Louisville tap fees are to low and ~he sewer tap fee is to high. i.\.ange for fees would tie from $800. to 900. This is to be dis- cussed at a iwork session. Keith Helart requested $865. for summer program and have the City back up with $400. if necessary. They have reduced teen program which will be self supporting and raised price of camp fee from 1.00 to 2.00. Requested that Planning Commission to require con- tractors to install sprinkling systems and seeding of grass in the parks that are to be given to the City. Deborski- Have valuation on how many parks we can support. Possible to receive money in lieu of ground;. Requested letter of for matching funds would like to have an answer within one week so they may go to H U D for funding of a swilmdng pool. If H U D is unavailable would try Bureau of Outdoor Recreation. Would go for grant in July and start construction in August. Requested that minutes be researched to find if 1% of gross recipts was set up for Parks and Recreation. Parks and Recreation would like for the City to accept lease for 3 years on the pArk west of the school. At the end of 3 "Bars school would probabley be able to turn property ofer to city. Hilgers park 'iIM~ was pre~ented. Would like to have this for future park ecquisiti.on. Maxwell asked when portion of conprehensive plan would be available? Keith stated it would ready by mid J~ne. City will back their half of grant. Maxwell at present no funds, why not approach J. C,I'S, or Lions Club ct'Qr donations. Jensen waiti1ho analyze funding.
