Water - King gave detailed written report of August 8, 1972 wat.er meeting <br />to each member an d Mayor. <br /> <br />2. Cemetery - No report. <br /> <br />3. Finance - Budget - no renort. :Hayor recommended finance committee <br />get startE~d on this so that we can meet deadline of Oct. IS, 1972. <br /> <br />4. Streets - No report., <br /> <br />Annlica tions for City Adrninis tra tor to be reviewed - Friday, August 18, 1972 <br /> <br />Guy Akins repres roting Akins and Associa tes asked Council if they would like their <br />services regarding a written proposal as to t.l-te goals and objectives required of <br />a city administrator, managementi duties, association with council, etc. Motion by <br />Maxwell seconded by King tha 1~ 3 Councilmen meet with Mr. Akins, August 22, 1972 <br />at 7:30 p.m. for discussion. Committee: Virg Ibnovan, Chairman, Jensen and King. <br /> <br />Mr. Rick Elliott, Karla-Kalaine Farms, Inc. and Massey - Ferguson dealer, came be- <br />for c01.fficil and stated he had purchased approximately 2 acres of land from ThoIn..'3.s <br />brother, formerly old mill site on County Road. Intends to carry on farm-coop, meat, <br />food and milk dist~ribution business. Corporation consists of members 0 f the Elliott <br />family" Will need building permits for further buildings, electrical and plumbing, <br />and will comply with all city codes. <br />Deborski asked about meat processing - Mr. Elliott stated there will be no slaughter <br />and meat will be sold as sides of beef, pork, etc. <br />Jensen questioned dust pollutiion when milling grain. Elliott assured COlillcil this <br />would be done in sealed containers and pollution would be minnimal. <br />Maxwel1 asked about plot plan - Elliott will make it available as soon as engineer <br />has comnleted same and submi'~ it to Council. <br />Mayor inquired if the firm would be emnloying anyone from Louisville. Stated he <br />had 17 employees ar;d anticipated hiring 12 others possibly from Louisville. He <br />is in need of skilled grain operators, skilled meat cutters and truck drivers. <br />PlaT1s t,O be in business in 90 days. After some discussion council agreed that <br />as soon as plot plan is submitted and city codes met, they would pass on same. <br />Motion by King, seconded by :Maxwell that Jensen be appointed to review and apnt'Ove <br />all applications for building permits. Motion carried unanimously 0 <br /> <br />Morris Miller of Oblinger-Smith Corp. presented counci.1 with detailed information <br />requesting government grant assis tance, and reviewed and explained same thoroughly. <br />Motion by Jensen, seconded by King that application for local plarming grant be <br />accept,~d and mayor authorized to sign same. Motion carried. <br />
