Perrella. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: <br /> <br />Present Tomeo, ~erry, Mudrock, Dondelinger. A. R. Perrella <br />who acted as Mayor due to the illness of Mayor L. Caranci. <br /> <br />ACCK'TA~:CE OF ~1nmTES: Mir~utes accepted as presentc:~d. <br /> <br />COR1::'C;PQl'DEt-rCE: Letter from V. 1:J. Ringsley in ap.Jreciation of the <br />way his court case was har;dled and also the court- <br />eous way the Patrolman handled the case. <br />Letter from the Library Board reqnesting that check <br />as per budget be issued. Chec~ issued. <br /> <br />JOE ~~ADONNA: Reported that the Federal go'.rernnent has approved <br />a grant to fund $26,000. study of the Coal Creek <br />Basin potential for w3ter resources and develop- <br />f'lent. Application was for $33,000., well short <br />of ~'eq tested amount. Grant vJill be on a matching <br />fund basis. Lo'lis '1ille, Laf'ayet te and Erie must <br />contribute one-third of cost. Meeting of Coal Creek <br />Association ThurRday, Feb. 4, 1971, Lafayette Fire <br />house at 7:30 P. M. to discuss Federal funding. <br />Madonna also asked for a commitment co'--'cerning <br />Urban Drainage and Flood Control, Louisville is a <br />me~ber. Lafayette pays $230. annually to p9rtici- <br />pate in the District which i~ en~aged in a $300,000. <br />study of "'torm drainage, flood control .end '-Taste <br />disposal and p lar'ning. Council agreed full support <br />to the District as it now stands. Council does not <br />want to withdraw, go on record 8? wanting it and <br />will 8uPl:)Ort it as it now stands. Motion by Mudro(:~ <br />seCfonded by Tomeo to send letter declaring support. <br />Motion carried. Attorney ~r,rris stated it would <br />probably be just another engineers ~tudy. Berry <br />asked if it had been 'croken dmm? One-tenth of a <br />mill v,;ry reasonable for what VIe could get out of it. <br /> <br />ITSHS T:OT '''N AGErmA: Boyd Forbis, President of Sanitation Board stated the <br />Sanitation Board is in favor of the City taking alTer <br />the Sanitation Diptrict this cou l.d be done as stwLed <br />by Paul Harris, City Attorney, by contracting with <br />the District for operation of' the sewer system. rc.'his <br />would hve to be done throcrh court and when the debts <br />v!ere oaid the Citv could o'ff'ici81'T tpke title to the <br />District.
