<br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />MARCH 17, 1970 <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Lawrence Caranci: <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: Following were present Tomeo, Kopro'lski, Mudrock, Dondelinger, <br />Perrella absent Berry. <br /> <br />Minutes read and approved as read. <br /> <br />COHRSSPONDENCE: Letter to John t10rris of Boulder Valley School District <br />in regards to agreement between Louisville and Lafayette, that Louisville <br />would furnish water and Lafayette sewer. Letter should have been signed <br />by Hayor of Louisville and Mayor of Lafayette. City Administrator to write <br />another letter 1"ith the s:_gnatures of LoiJ,i~ville and Lafayette Mayors <br /> <br />Letter fro~ Boulder County Engineering Dept. requesting and opinion <br />from Louisville in r~gards to the 4 millian ~al. water tank to be built <br />by the \;i ty of Lafayette. This is to be built in the vicinity of Louisville <br />filter plant. Having a hearing Mpreh 19, 1970. Referrel letter sent but <br />no one received the letter. Mayor ~aranci agreed to a joint meeting of <br />Loui'ville and Lafayette. T-meo said he 1..;a15 against it because it would <br />interfer with water storage. Koprowski and Hudroek had no com,;'nent. <br />Dondel"inger wanted to know if an Engineer had been contacted. City Adm- <br />ministrator st~ted Ken Bruns was not in favor of it. <br />Joe lV'Jadonna st,'-1ted the Planning ~"m~ission i..ranted a statement in i..rritting <br />on the 17 acres also a map. 1. No Hay to stop it if they have acquired <br />the land. 2. Use of land \-wuld sell any part of 17 acres, Ken Bruns stated <br />we wO'lld need only 3 acres of land. City Conneil wants ass ranee that we <br />will have access to facilities. <br />Motion by Koprowski seconded by Perrella to send letter to Lafayette and <br />County stating any d8mage we wi1l expect restitution to be made. Motion <br />Carried. Have Attorney write the letter. <br />Coal Creek and Sanitation Study meetinv Thursday n~ght, March 19, 1970. <br />Joe ~~donna stated he did not know if Broomfield would come into the Coal <br />Creek project or not. If they do not it would probable be up to Louisville <br />and Lafayette which would be approximately $5,000. Perrella remarked he <br />believes thi~ w()lJld be the cheapest study and we should participate re- <br />gardless of how many take part in this project. Dondelinger set up ~ertain <br />amount to be used if it exceeds amount come back to Council for consideration. <br />Motion by Dondelinger to approve a maximum of $5,000. for study of Coal Creek <br />seconded by Koprowski. Checked for new <br />street lights, the mo,-tl nportant for time being wO'~11d be at Jefferson Ave. <br />and South Boulder R0ad. <br /> <br />FINANCE COmlITTEE: Report showed that Gapter water has beet:!. raid. <br />It wap agreed to hold one week wages for Patl'olmen.. <br /> <br />POLICE COilU1ITTEE: Report from Chief of Police to accompany agenda. Police <br />Commission to recommend on Ilew a-mlieations for p,qtrolmen also new Patrol- <br />men to have phycicAl check. <br />
