<br />COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br />NOV. 4, 1970 <br /> <br />Meeting called to ordl2r by }'~'or Lawrence Caranci. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: Present Tomeo, Koprowski, Berry, Mudrock, Dondeling<lr, Perrell~. <br /> <br />ACCEPTANCE OF rrrNUTES: Minutes accepted after correction. <br /> <br />CORRRspmmENCE : <br /> <br />1. Letter from Louisville Hi School expressing appreciation <br />for the assistance of the Police Dept. at th~ Home Coming <br />activities. <br /> <br />2. Letter from Flight Systems, Inc. is prepared to exercise <br />the lease ,md option to buy Blocks 11,12,13,14 parts of <br />block 10 and 18 of the Industrial Area in ~aledonia Place. <br />The sum of $6,000. less $40.00 ,for Insurance premium is <br />on depo~it in escrow at the Broomfield Bank. Motion by <br />Dondelinger seconded by Loprowski to have At~orney Morris <br />execute the: transaction. ~1otio n carried. <br /> <br />POLICE COMMISSION: Councilman Mudrock, chairman of Police Commission stated <br />the Commission met on Oct.' 26th for dismissal of Alex <br />Chernoff as a patrolman for the City, it end~d in a tie <br />vote therefore Has brought before Council. Chief Jim <br />Patrick proceeded to state all the reasons for dismissal <br />of Chernoff'. In rebuttal Alex admitted'to everything the <br />Chief had to say but requested termination by council <br />rather than dismissal by Chief. Motion by Dondelinger <br />seconded by' Hudrock to give Alex chance to resign, pay <br />next two week~ ealary, two 1-reeks vacation and uniform <br />allovrance due. Remarks: Koprowski he allowed to resign <br />at a,ny time. l.Iondelinger does not resolve its self. ; <br />Perrella Chief to be commended on wav case was stated. <br />Rules and regulations authority of ~hief. If Officer <br />cannot abide by the rules then he should be discharged. <br />Councilman Mudrock expressed the need for another member <br />on the Commission making it five. Berry goe along with <br />termination. Tomeo Alex admitted he could not work under <br />the Chief due to personal problems. Roll Call vote on <br />motion Torneo yes,Koprowski no, Berry no, Mudrock no, <br />Dondelinger yes, Perrella No. not t~ resign. Motion by <br />Berry seconded by Perrella officer ~hernoff be terminated <br />with two weeks notice, Nov. 18th. Dondelinger not an <br />e'fective employer for the, next two weeks. Perrella <br />terminate now and give two weeks salary. Roll Call voteLj- <br />Pt'irrella yes, Dondelinger no., Mudrock}{ji, Berry yes, <br />Koprowski no, Tomeo yes Motion carried. <br />Mayor requested to ad~ertise in the ,newspapers for <br />application. <br /> <br />JACEES: Mark Warner and several other Jacees came before Council <br />in regards to more space for the Library, recreational <br />needs and a ~limming pool. Jaycees are proposing a halt <br />million dollar swinning pool, p,3rk and LibrarY complex <br />would like the C;i.t.v to consider funds from U. S. Dept. <br />of Housing <br />
