RIESOLUTION NO. 8 <br /> SERIES 2011 <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVING A PRESERVATION AND RESTORATION <br /> GRANT FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE STREET FACING FALSE FRONT <br /> FOR THE REX THEATER LOCATED AT 817 MAIN STREET. <br /> WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the Louisville City Council an <br /> application for a Preservation and Restoration Grant for the street facing false front of <br /> the Rex Theater located at 817 Main Street, on property legally described as south 5 <br /> feet of Lot 10 the north 20 feet of Lot 11, Block 5, Town of Louisville, City of Louisville, <br /> State of Colorado; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Staff and the Louisville Historic Preservation Commission <br /> (HPC) have reviewed the application and found it to be in compliance with Chapter <br /> 3.20.605.D of the Louisville Municipal Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, after a duly noticed public hearing on January 10, 2011, where <br /> evidence and testimony were entered into the record, including the findings in the <br /> Louisville HPC Staff Report dated January 10, 2011, the HPC recommended approval <br /> of said Preservation and Restoration Grant Application with three conditions: <br /> 1. The attached Conservation Easement for the Street Facing Front Facade <br /> of 817 Main Street is signed and received by the City of Louisville as <br /> required in Sec. 3.20.605.0 of the LMC; <br /> 2. The architectural and engineering services, shown above as item C, shall <br /> be included in the approved grant amount. <br /> 3. The 20% contingency should also allow for "enhancement of design" as a <br /> form of "discovery <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has duly considered the proposed form of <br /> Conservation Easement for the street facing false front of 817 Main Street; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds the improvements proposed to be made to the <br /> facade and corresponding conservation agreement will assist in the preservation of the <br /> street facing false front for the Rex Theater located at 817 Main Street, consistent with <br /> the historic scale and character of Downtown Louisville. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LOUISVILLE CITY COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> 1. The City Council hereby approves the Preservation and Restoration Grant <br /> application for 817 Main Street per the application cost estimate items, <br /> except item K, of the attached scope of work, for a total grant amount of <br /> $62,573 (including a 20% contingency) with the following condition: <br /> Resolution No. 8, Series 2011 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
