<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 2,2006 <br />Page 13 of 13 <br />preferred site. The Boulder County Commissioners will conduct a public hearing <br />on the application on May 23. He reported on the decline in sales tax, particularly <br />in the home improvement stores, where sales were down 23%. He stated there <br />will be challenges in the 2007 budget process and likely in the 2006 budget. <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Mayor Sisk stated the Finance Committee discussed the declining sales tax and <br />have requested the City Staff make contact with Home Depot and Lowe's to offer <br />their assistance. Mayor Sisk and Mayor Pro Tem Brown will meet with Superior <br />Mayor Muckle and Trustee Chu regarding Superior's financial support of the new <br />library. He reminded Council of their meeting with the Louisville Revitalization <br />Commission and the Planning Commission. The meeting is scheduled for <br />Thursday, May 11, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the City Council chambers. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown reported on the Business Retention and Development <br />(BRaD) meeting. They requested a recommendation from a company which will <br />supply data for an on-line real estate search engine for the Web Site. <br />Council member Marsella announced the Youth Advisory Board will host a Music <br />Fest, on Saturday, May 13 at the Steinbaugh Pavilion. A silent auction was held <br />and all proceeds will go to support the Music Fest.
