Staff recommended continuing the
matter to the July 18, 2006 City Council meeting.
MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved to continue Ordinance No. 1456, Series 2004 to
July 18, 2006, seconded by Council member Marsella. All in favor.
RESOLUTION No. 23, SERIES 2006 - A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING
APPROVAL OF AN AMENDED FINAL PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT
(PUD) PLAN RELATED TO PROJECT MONUMENT AND WALL SIGNAGE
FOR CHRISTOPHER PLAZA, LOT 8, CHRISTOPHER VILLAGE, FOURTH
FILING
Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation.
Planning Director Wood explained Della CavalTebo, LLC, represented by John
Huff of RMD Signs, requested an amended final PUD for Christopher Plaza, to
allow modifications to two existing monument signs and modifications to the PUD
sign criteria for wall-mounted signs. The amendments were requested to provide
better identification for the businesses from the two adjacent roadways. The
1994 final PUD authorized two monument signs, one along each of the adjacent
arterial street frontages (South Boulder Road and SH 42). Those monument
signs included project identification and individual tenant identification. The
building was authorized wall signage, with certain limitation in design and size, as
established on the PUD. Illuminated wall signage was limited to the first floor.
The applicant intends to reuse the existing monument signs, but expand on them
by adding a multi tenant sign panel of 60 SF. The application includes a request
to allow illuminated wall signs on the fascia band at the second story level. The
proposed signs would be available for use by either the second or third story.
The Planning Commission requested additional options for the monument sign to
give a more unified and cohesive appearance. The Planning Commission
reviewed four additional concept designs at a public hearing on April 20, 2006
and approved the request with conditions. The revised submittal meets the
recommended design requirements. The conditions of approval were intended to
provide uniformity to the signage panel size and background color.
Mayor Sisk asked if the applicant accepts the conditions. Mr. Huff stated yes.
Mayor Sisk requested public comment. There were no comments.
