<br /> City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> May 16, 2006 <br /> Page 6 of 12 <br />The applicant has submitted the same materials to Council, which were reviewed <br />by the Planning Commission at public hearings held on February 9,2006 and <br />March 9, 2006. The applicant's written materials submitted on May 8,2006 reflect <br />the following two changes: 1) The ownership model has been revised from <br />selling each unit off as a condominium, to leasing units by a single ownership <br />entity. 2) The applicant has agreed to remove the dump station from the PUD <br />proposal. Staff recommended approval subject to eleven conditions. <br />City Attorney Durfee requested the City Council by motion, formally include in the <br />record of the public hearing the following documents: The final subdivision replat <br />and final development plan application filed by the applicant; all other documents <br />the applicant has filed with the City in connection with the applications; all <br />materials included in the City Council packets; all referral comments received on <br />the application; the minutes of the Planning Commission's hearings on the <br />applications; the City's zoning and subdivision ordinances, the City's Industrial <br />Development Design Guidelines; the City's Comprehensive Plan and any other <br />public records prepared or received by the Planning Department in reference to <br />this proposed final subdivision replat and PUD. <br />MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved the documents outlined by the City Attorney be <br />entered into the record of the hearing. Mayor Pro Tem Brown seconded the <br />motion. All in favor. <br />Mayor Sisk requested an Applicant presentation. <br />Mr. John King, Securecare Self Storage, Inc., 9226 Teddy Lane, Lone Tree, CO, <br />explained the proposal is for indoor storage or warehousing and no outdoor <br />storage would be allowed. The units are intended for sale as condominiums for <br />storage. He addressed the applicants' request for parking relief and explained <br />there isn't a need for off-street parking in this project. He addressed the <br />concerns of the Planning Commissions; the onsite project management; long- <br />term maintenance; and adequate visual clearance for police and fire protection. <br />He stressed the storage proposal is compliant with the City of Louisville's <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br />Mayor Sisk requested public comment. There were no comments. <br />COUNCIL COMMENT <br />Council member Marsella inquired as to the ownership of the common areas and <br />the land. Mr. King stated the common areas and the land will be maintained by <br />the owners and only the storage units will be sold. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown asked if Mr. King owns other storage units in the area. <br />Mr. King stated his company owns several storage unit properties. <br />
