<br /> City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> August 1, 2006 <br /> Page 12 of 12 <br />Council member Marsella did not favor contesting the ruling and suggested the <br />City Council pursue the open records issue legislatively. <br />Council member Muckle stated he was stunned by the Court ruling. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown asked what process would be followed if the City elected <br />to contest the ruling. City Attorney Light outlined the process. <br /> CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />City Manager Simmons reported on the following: <br />. Correspondence received from the University of Colorado that Deputy City <br /> Clerk Carol Hanson graduated from the IIMC Institute, which is a <br /> certification program for city clerks. <br />. The public meeting held on the Highway 42 Traffic Management Plan. <br />. CCTV search for a new studio location. The City is working with <br /> COMCAST to provide fiber optic connection to the new studio. Council <br /> will decide how to split PEG fees between governmental and public. <br />. The City spayed for mosquitoes last week in some parts of the City. <br />. Budget short fall in sales tax for June was $90,000, and the total deficit for <br /> the year is $200,000. Department directors are closely scrutinizing <br /> department spending. <br />. The City will offer a 35 hour work week, with full benefits to employees. <br /> Potential salary savings $50,000 to $100,000 per year. Flexible work <br /> schedules will also be offered. <br />. The primary election is August 8 and the Council Chambers is a polling <br /> place, therefore, the study session will be at the Library conference room. <br /> The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m., with a tour of the Historical Museum. <br />. Agenda item for the August 15, 2006 meeting is the adoption of the Urban <br /> Renewal Plan. <br /> ADJOURN <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 9:32 p.m. Absent: <br /> ~ - <br /> , City Clerk <br />
