The cost to develop that agreement is not known at this <br />time. Staff would like a discussion/diirection on whether to pursue the Phase II <br />initiative. Chris Puccio, with the City of Boulder, and Chris Browning, with the City <br />of Louisville IT Staff were available for questions. <br />Chris Puccio, Director of Information Technology for the City of Boulder, did not <br />have a formal presentation. He stated the Wireless Project is an exciting <br />venture, which has a lot of merit. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown requested public comment. <br />Kaylah Zelij, 822 Owl Drive, Louisville CO, stated she and her daughter support <br />the wireless internet project. <br />Council member Marsella noted this is a very lean budget year for the City of <br />Louisville, and asked if there is an opportunity to participate at a later time. Mr. <br />Puccio confirmed there will be opportunities to participate at a later time. <br />Council member Muckle noted them is a location in Louisville that does not have <br />high-speed Internet service. He asked if there is a potential to connect wireless <br />services to those areas. Mr. Puccio stated there would be opportunities to <br />provide a good broadband connection to those areas. <br />Council member Muckle asked if there would be a franchise agreement with <br />participating cities. Mr. Puccio stated they are considering leasing arrangements. <br />City Manager Simmons asked if emergency notification would be included. Mr. <br />Puccio stated it could be a consideration. <br />City Manager Simmons stated the City has a ten-year agreement with a wireless <br />provider Ricochet. Mr. Puccio stated they have spoken to Ricochet, and they <br />may be interested in participating in the RFP process. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown explained wireless is not a free service and would require <br />a subscription fee. Mr. Puccio confirmed it was a subscription service and the <br />cost would range between $17.00 and $25.00 per month. <br />City Manager Simmons asked what the City's $13,800 participation fees would <br />actually purchase. Mr. Puccio stated it would pay for an attorney's time, the RFP <br />process, and the analysis. The actual building process of the network would <br />require capital provided by the private sector. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown requested public comment. <br />
