<br /> City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> September 5, 2006 <br /> Page 6 of 8 <br />Alan Sobel, 1408 Kennedy Avenue, Louisville, CO asked Council to consider <br />whether this network would provide what the City does not currently have. He <br />noted the service would be residential and not commercial based. <br />Chris Browning, Systems Administrator for the City of Louisville, stated it may <br />well provide a benefit to the City government operations. With respect to the <br />public's desire for wireless, he noted his contact with several citizens who desire <br />wireless services. He felt it was a good investment. <br />Council member Yarnell asked how this would fit into the 2007 budget. <br />Finance Director Leslie stated it would be budgeted in the capital project fund. <br />City Manager Simmons pointed out the City's sales tax is in a decline, and noted <br />there is a cost for such services. HH stated the Council must decide whether <br />they wish to investment in this type of service. He stated this is a one-time <br />expenditure, but there would be other charges for services. <br />Council member Muckle voiced his support for wireless services and stated the <br />money would be well spent. <br />Mayor Sisk arrived at the meeting at 7:49 p.m. <br />Council member Sackett stated Council must ask whether this is a desirable tool <br />for the citizens of Louisville. He supported investing in wireless service. <br />Mayor Sisk stated the Finance Committee discussed wireless service and has <br />voiced their support. He stated this is an investment in Louisville's future. <br />MOTION: Council member Sackett moved the Council direct Staff to draft an <br />agreement for wireless internet access, not to exceed $13,800, seconded by <br />Council member Muckle. Roll call vote was taken. The motion carried by a vote <br />of 7-2. Council member Yarnell and Mayor Pro Tern Brown voted no. <br />ORDINANCE No. 1499, SERIES 2006 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 17 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING <br />SIGNAGE _1st reading - set public hearing 10/3/06 <br />Mayor Sisk requested a City Attorney Introduction. <br />City Attorney Light read Ordinance No. 1499, Series 2006. <br />MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved to send out Ordinance No. 1499, Series 2006 for <br />publication and set a public hearing for October 3, 2006, seconded by Mayor Pro <br />Tem Brown. All in favor. <br />
