INDIGENOUS PEOPLES' DAY EXHIBIT <br />Check out the Louisville Historical Museum's front <br />windows starting in late September to learn about as- <br />pects of Arapaho culture and language that influenced <br />place names and terms we use today. <br />The Arapaho language was spoken in this area well <br />before Louisville existed and is still spoken today. And <br />learn about ways you can get involved with <br />Indigenous People's Day celebrations and efforts <br />year-round via Indigenous activists and <br />local organizations. <br />MEMORY SQUARE REPLICA OPENING <br />Visit the Louisville Historical Museum starting in <br />September to see the new historic replica from Dick <br />Del Pizzo focused on the community buildings that <br />were at Memory Square Park. Experience history in 3D <br />and learn about what Louisville looked like over 100 <br />years ago in this new 2'x 3' permanent exhibit! <br />No registration is required. Museum admission is free <br />for all ages. <br />MUSEUM'S WALKING TOURS <br />Sept. 18, 9 AM <br />Louisville's Frenchtown Neighborhood - Diane Marino <br />will lead a tour of the historic Frenchtown neighbor- <br />hood that is located in the vicinity of Rex and Parkview <br />Streets, just north of Community Park. <br />Sept. 25 at 9 AM <br />Historic Trees of Downtown Louisville - Join Chris <br />Lichty, City Forester, as he leads a tour about historic <br />and significant trees in Louisville. This tour is cospon- <br />sored by the Parks, Recreation, & Open Space Dept. <br />and the Louisville Historical Museum. <br />Nov. 7 and Nov. 14 at 10 AM <br />Louisville During the Great War - Join the Museum and <br />Open Space for a walking tour of the industries that <br />shaped Louisville's wartime culture and economy. Join <br />the City's Ranger Naturalist and Louisville <br />Historical Museum staff for a walking tour of traces <br />from the industries that fueled Louisville's <br />contributions to the war effort. <br />Visit LouisvilleCO.gov/Calendar to register for <br />walking tours. <br />ASH PIT GETS NEW LIFE <br />The Louisville Historical Museum and the Louisville <br />History Foundation recently partnered to move a <br />beehive -shaped ash pit from the backyard of a <br />downtown Louisville home to the Museum campus. <br />Visit the Museum to learn how the ash pit was a part of <br />Louisville domestic life.
