Transportation, financial <br />assistance, legal services, Medicare, and housing are <br />just a few of the wealth of resources in our area. <br />Snow Shoveling Assistance for Seniors <br />Snow shoveling help is available for seniors 60+, <br />who meet the following eligibility requirements: you <br />live in your Louisville residence year round and your <br />income is under $25,000/year for a single person or <br />under $30,000/year as a couple. Louisville Senior Services is in need of <br />volunteers to help keep seniors in Louisville safe in <br />their homes by providing snow shoveling. To be a <br />snow buster, you will need to complete a volunteer ap- <br />plication. For more information, contact KatieTofte <br />KTofte@LouisvilleCO.gov or by calling 303.335.4919. <br />UPCOMING SENIOR PROGRAMS <br />Senior Services Wellness & Resource Fair <br />This fair is for Seniors, their families, and caregivers <br />to learn about resources in the area including home <br />health, housing, transportation, nutrition and <br />much more. <br />Friday, October 1, 9 -11 AM <br />No registration necessary. <br />Senior Services Thanksgiving Feast <br />We will provide the main meal of turkey, stuffing, <br />mashed potatoes, vegetable, cranberry sauce and roll <br />and ask those joining us to bring either an appetizer or <br />dessert to share with friends at your table. Check the City <br />Calendar LouisvilleCO.gov to confirm that these <br />in -person events are taking place. <br />FREEZE RESISTANT DRINKING FOUNTAINS <br />The installation of freeze resistant drinking fountains <br />has been completed at the Arboretum restroom and <br />the Community Park restroom. The fountains consist <br />of ADA compliant high and low level fountains in <br />addition to bottle fillers. <br />Most of the plumbing for the fountains is inside the <br />restroom buildings in a heated storage area. During <br />colder weather water can still be obtained from the <br />fountains as the fountains drain back in to the heated <br />storage areas. Next time you are at these locations, <br />check out the freeze resistant fountains. <br />OPEN SPACE EVENTS <br />Register for Open Space events at <br />LouisvilleCO.gov/Calendar. <br />Visit LouisvilleCO.gov/COVID19 for the current mask <br />requirements and guidance. <br />Pulling for Louisville Volunteer Weed Pull <br />Tuesday, September 7 from 6:30-7:30 PM <br />Davidson Mesa (meet at GHX entrance) <br />Audience: All ages <br />The Open Space Division need your help to remove <br />weeds on Davidson Mesa Open Space. Noxious weed <br />management will be discussed from 6:30 to 6:40 and <br />then we will be clipping and bagging seed -heads of <br />noxious weeds.
