The winners were announced at the February <br />16 City Council Meeting. <br />MUSEUM MONTHLY TAKE & MAKES <br />The Museum and the Louisville History Foundation are <br />sponsoring Take & Make craft kits each month at the <br />Louisville Public Library. The kits will include the spe- <br />cific craft's supplies and fun history facts! Follow the <br />Museum's Instagram, @louisvillemuseum, to stay up to <br />date on the release dates. <br />NEW DRIVING TOUR AND ONLINE EXHIBIT, <br />"DISCOVER LOUISVILLE" <br />Take the Louisville Historical Museum's new driving <br />tour for a spin! Explore Louisville past and present at <br />your own pace. This intuitive driving tour includes <br />twelve stops beginning and includes history of the <br />landscape as well as neighborhoods and former <br />residents. If you don't fancy a drive, try the at-home <br />exhibit version of"Discover Louisville." <br />RESURFACING & CONCRETE REPLACEMENT <br />The City's annual Concrete Replacement, Resurfacing, <br />and Crack Seal Work is scheduled to commence in <br />March (weather dependent). The work, which is <br />scheduled to conclude in the summer, will take place <br />in phases and may include some lane closures and <br />traffic diversions. Each year the Public Works <br />Department completes an assessment of the street <br />system to determine how to properly maintain and <br />care for our streets. $3.6m has been budgeted in 2021 <br />to improve the street network. Neighbors to construction sites will be <br />notified by letter and the website is updated weekly. <br />If you have questions, please contact Public Works <br />pworks@LouisvilleCO.gov (303) 335-4608. <br />PUBLIC ART FOR PEDESTRIAN UNDERPASSES <br />New public art will be added to the McCaslin Blvd <br />Pedestrian Underpass and South Street Pedestrian <br />Underpass. <br />At McCaslin Blvd Pedestrian Underpass, artists Rita Vali <br />and Robyn Rathweg will create an immersive, <br />experiential, colorful mosaic tile mural. The mural will <br />utilize stylized and abstracted images of native flora <br />and fauna to depict the underground ecosystem. <br />At the South Street Pedestrian Underpass, artist <br />Gregory Fields will create and install a series of cut <br />steel panels with inset colorful ceramic elements that <br />complements the industrial nature of the railroad <br />bridge and enlivens the underpass with abstract <br />designs and lively shapes. If <br />you are thinking about doing a summer home <br />improvement project, please consult the list below for <br />some common projects that require a building permit <br />from the Planning & Building Safety Department: <br />• Decks <br />• Fences <br />• Patio Covers <br />• Pergolas <br />• Pools (above/underground) <br />All permit applications can be completed from the <br />comfort of your home by visiting LouisvilleCO.gov/CSS <br />and using the Citizen Self Service Portal (CSS).
