Parks General Maintenance and Management Plan
The Parks division has begun implementing a new
Parks General Maintenance and Management Plan.
The plan's goal is to ensure that Parks assets are
thoughtfully maintained and managed, and that funding
allocations and annual budgets meet the department's
needs. Parks staff worked with a consultant to evaluate
asset management, maintenance management, staff
resources, and budget allocations. The consultant used
this data to develop an annual work plan as a roadmap
to become a high -performing organization in alignment
with the Commission for Accreditation of Park and
Recreation Agencies standards. The Parks division
manages 93 sites and over 953 acres of parks land,
including parks, courts, fields, medians, playgrounds, a
cemetery, and an urban canopy of over 10,000 trees.
