NEWS FROM CITY HALL
L
Ward 1
Ward 2
Ward 3
A MESSAGE FROM MAYOR LEH
Spring is just around the corner. As
we look ahead to warmer weather,
rebirth in our Open Space and
parks, fun community events and
programs, and the return of even
more of our Marshall Fire survivors,
we're looking ahead to Louisville's
future. I couldn't be more excited
about the opportunities we have
this year for all of us to help shape our small town's
future.
The fall 2023 elections gave our residents the
unprecedented democratic opportunity to select a
mayor and five other Councilmembers to represent
them. Based on the recently revised work plan, Council
will be focusing on a host of important issues, including
economic vitality, land use code reform, affordable
housing, Open Space, and fire hardening and other
emergency preparedness measures. We are once again
at full strength following our recent appointment of Tim
Bierman to the vacant Ward 1 seat. In a Special Election
this November, Ward 1 residents will elect a candidate
to represent them until the next regular Council election
in 2025.
This year will also give our entire community options to
share your thoughts, both about how we're doing now
as well as your vision for the next decade or more:
MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL
Mayor Chris Leh
Caleb Dickinson (Mayor Pro Tem)
Tim Bierman
Deborah Fahey
Judi Kern
► First, this spring and again later this year, residents
will have multiple opportunities to engage in the
process of updating our city's Comprehensive Plan.
The Comp Plan outlines the collective vision, values,
and goals which will guide us in the years to come.
We are revising it for the first time in a decade.
► Second, for the first time since 2020, we'll be
circulating a citywide resident survey. The Council
and I are eager to get your feedback about city
services and programs, quality of life, city priorities,
and more.
► Third, we are partnering with other Boulder County
municipalities to conduct an analysis concerning a
potential regional minimum wage. We'll be looking
to hear from our Louisville businesses and all those
who work, live, and shop in our community.
You'll hear more about each of these opportunities soon.
In the meantime, I hope you'll join me in appreciating
how beautiful Louisville is in the springtime. There's the
gorgeous sunset over a rejuvenated Davidson Mesa,
the budding of trees, and the blooming of flowers
throughout the city. With spring also comes the return
of so many of our community's exciting programs and
events: Our Open Space Stargazers and Plein Air
Painting series, StoryWalk®, the Family Fishing Frenzy,
plant and bird walks, and so much more. I look forward
to all of these and hope you will, too!
Leh©LouisvilleCO.gov 303.668.3916
CDickinson@LouisvilleCO.gov 303.495.8219
TBierman©LouisvilleCO.gov
DFahey©LouisvilleCO.gov
JKern@LouisvilleCO.gov
Dietrich Hoefner DHoefner©LouisvilleCO.gov
Barbara Hamlington BHamlington@LouisvilleCO.gov
720.320.5539
720.724.5684
720.419.5030
720.693.1705
The City Council generally holds regular meetings the first and third Tuesdays of each month at City Hall, 749 Main
Street, at 6 PM.
