Louisville has a strong <br />economy, benefiting from years of business and <br />commercial corridor success. Louisville is home to over <br />1,600 businesses across a wide variety of industries. We <br />benefit from high-tech industries in Boulder County's <br />targeted industries and many quality -of -life businesses <br />that together provide many opportunities for people to <br />live, work and recreate in Louisville. These businesses <br />employ over 20,000 people from Louisville and our <br />surrounding communities. Louisville's top industries by <br />employment are Professional, Scientific and Technical <br />Services, Manufacturing, Health Care and Social <br />Assistance, Accommodation and Food Services and <br />Retail. These five industries account for over 14,000 of <br />Louisville's employees. The top industries by business <br />count are Professional, Scientific and Technical Services, <br />Health Care and Social Assistance, Wholesale Trade, <br />Others and Finance and Insurance. The top industries <br />account for roughly 1,000 of Louisville's businesses. <br />Most of Louisville's businesses are small businesses. The <br />Small Business Administration considers a business to <br />be a small business if they have 500 or fewer employees. <br />By that standard, all but 13 of businesses in Louisville are <br />small businesses. A majority of businesses in Louisville <br />(87.6%) have 20 or fewer employees. Louisville thrives <br />on businesses of all sizes and industries. Louisville's top <br />employers are Balfour, Adventist Health, Sierra Space, <br />City of Louisville, and Fresca Foods. <br />We have four main commercial corridors in Louisville: <br />McCaslin Boulevard, South Boulder Road, Downtown <br />Louisville, and the Colorado Technology Center.
