Recreation Advisory Board
Minutes
January 27, 2025
barriers be added? Residents downhill are just returning to newly built
homes.
Renovations to tennis courts and other park facilities including bocce ball
are being made. Snow removal has been effective and timely.
Kathy: Relocation of inline hockey rinks is still uncertain. The two sites that
were considered will not work. More review for other sites is needed.
• Golf Updates — GM Position hiring update — Kathy
Golf staff will report to a new Golf Manager. 50 applications received and
interviews will start soon. City no longer allows Board members to help
with interviews. Dick: it's important to have a citizen be included in the
interviews, not necessarily Board members. It should not just be City
employees conducting interviews. How can Board members raise these
concerns since City Council cannot decide who can conduct interviews?
Kathy: the Board needs to communicate our concerns to the Interim City
Manager and Interim HR Director. Board agreed that Lisa will contact
these folks with our concerns.
Board Updates
• 2025 City Council Presentation (presented to City Council April 8)
Lisa: we have slides from Meredyth Muth to use for RAB bullets, etc. Lisa
will ask us to review draft slides and then meet to discuss them on March
17. All RAB members are invited to our presentation to Council.
• Outdoor Rec Amenities Update
Lisa: we have not met since the last RAB meeting. We will meet next on
March 10.
• 2026 budget requests due to City Council on May 1st
Lisa: we will need to consider budgeting for additional staffing, equipment,
etc. Kathy: we could use a new Coordinator position to support Jesse and
Mandy for youth sport programs. She thinks we would need an additional
$32,000 for 20 hours per week. RAB agreed we should advocate for this
position in a memo to City Council.
Michele: did we get any feedback on Dick's proposal to the City planners
during our last meeting? We did not get many answers to our questions
