Staff recommended the sub-committee <br /> consist of two Council members, the Human Resources Manager, and the <br /> Interim City Manager. The entire City Council and the sub-committee would also <br /> continue to work with the selected firm throughout the hiring process of the new <br /> City Manager. <br /> Mayor Sisk appointed himself and Council member Sackett to the sub-committee <br /> in selection of an executive firm. <br /> UPDATE/CITY HALL REMODEL <br /> Interim City Manager Balser reported the City Hall remodel is substantially <br /> complete. All departments have moved into their offices spaces. New energy <br /> efficient lighting has been installed throughout the building. The new HVAC <br /> system has been tested and balanced. The Council Chambers sound system has <br /> also been installed and adjusted, however not all speakers are functional. Staff is <br /> reviewing proposals for new broadcasting cameras. A second floor display case <br /> will be ordered and delivered in January. New Council Chambers chairs and <br /> other furniture will be order and delivered in January. New furniture for the <br /> lobbies will be delivered in February and new window shades for all offices will <br /> be installed in January. She reported the substantial completion date was <br /> celebrated and all City Hall employees were given gift certificates for their <br /> graciousness during the remodel process. <br /> Mayor Sisk suggested after the completion of the remodel, the City hosts an <br /> open house for the public. He commended Deputy City Manager Boyd for her <br /> work on the remodel project. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> City Attorney Light requested two members of Council be available for the <br /> mediation hearing on the Hamon Litigation on January 17, 2007. Mayor Pro Tem <br /> Brown and Council member Marsella will represent the Council in the mediation <br /> hearing. He requested a brief executive session on the January 2, 2007 City <br /> Council meeting to discuss settlement options. He reported on Amendment 41 <br /> and provisions of the Louisville Home Rule Charter. He will be providing Council <br /> further direction on Amendment 41. <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Brown asked about unintended consequences such as gifts to <br /> family members or scholarships. City Attorney explained Amendment 41 is <br /> structured on status and not on conduct. He would provide Council a <br /> memorandum with additional information. <br />
