-..:::: ORDINANCE NO. 795 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE OPERATION OF THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE BY REGULATING USE OF THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM AND REGULATING THE TYPES OF WASTE THAT MAY BE DISPOSED OF THEREIN. WHEREAS, it has been determined that ordinances relative to operation of the Louisville Waste Water System should be updated and brought in line with current policies; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Louisville believes it to be in the best interests of the City to adopt said updated regulations; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: Section 1. Chapter 13.32 of Title 13 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby repealed. Section 2. The following chapter and sections are hereby added to Title 13 of the Louisville Municipal Code: Chapter 13.32 Sewer Use Regulations 13.32.010 General Purpose and Policy This ordinance sets forth uniform requirements for direct and indirect contributors into the wastewater collection and treatment system for the City of Louisville and enables the City to comply with all applicable State and Federal laws, including as required by the Clean Water Act of 1977 and the General Pretreatment Regulations (40 CFR Part 403). The objectives of this ordinance: (a) To regulate the collection of wastewater and treatment thereof so as to provide for maximum public benefit in regard to the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the City of Louisville; (b) To prevent the introduction of pollutants into the municipal wastewater system which will interfere with the operation of the system or contaminate the resulting sludge; (c) To prevent the introduction of pollutants into the municipal wastewater system which will pass through the system, inadequately treated, into receivirig waters or the atmosphere or otherwise be incompatible with the system; (d) To improve the opportunity to recycle and reclaim wastewaters and sludges from the systems. (e) To provide for equitable distribution of the cost of the municipal wastewater system. This ordinance shall apply within the City of Louisville and to persons outside the City who are, by contract, agreement or authorized by the City to discharge into the City's publicly owned treatment works. Except as otherwise provided herein, the City Administrator or his designated representative shall supervise and control in all matters and shall administer, implement, and enforce the provisions of this ordinance.
