Preliminary Internal Review Draft <br />COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT <br />Conversations with the Community around Choices & <br />Tradeoffs for the Future <br />Community members participated in the second round of engagement (Engagement Window 2) to <br />share preferences for growth scenarios and focused on gathering feedback about opportunity areas for <br />development, job growth, transportation, and the environment. Their input shaped the City's Future Land <br />Use Map to better reflect shared Vision and priorities. Engagement Window 2 also included a survey, work <br />sessions, and an open house. <br />WHAT WE HEARD <br />Increase Housing Opportunity <br />• Offer more housing options and increase density <br />around central activity areas. <br />• Preserve existing single-family neighborhoods, <br />while allowing gentle infill, such as Accessory <br />Dwelling Units (ADUs), duplexes and triplexes. <br />• 93% of open house participants supported more <br />mixed use/ mid density residential in Louisville <br />• Residents call for zoning changes to support <br />denser, mixed -use developments with more <br />affordable and diverse housing. <br />Encourage Multimodal Transit <br />• Promote transit -oriented development. <br />• Enhance connectivity through transit, bus lines, <br />and micro -transit options. <br />Improve pedestrian crossings and underpasses <br />using flashing lights for pedestrian safety. <br />• Residents suggest improving multimodal <br />transportation, building more bike trails, adding <br />underpasses, and installing signs and maps for <br />easier navigation. <br />"More affordable <br />housing options so <br />people can afford to <br />live here." <br />"More bike lanes, <br />more access to <br />transit.
