Arts Advisory Board
Agenda
August 13, 2025
2. Winterfest - decorating gingerbread men, holiday
themed crafts at the Art Center, can reuse holiday
decorations, coffee and cookies were most expensive
3. We considered a drive-in movie but it's still pretty
expensive (screen, movie license, weather
consideration)
4. November is the month we don't really have anything
going on - can we fill it? (Center for the Arts is pretty
booked that month)
5. Reina: Diwali (October 20)? Day of the Dead
(November'/2, crafts - sugar skulls, marigolds?,
dance, speaker?)? Mohamed: Coco is a good movie
for that, Brandi: do keep in mind it's right after
Halloween
6. Alexander: Trans Day of Remembrance (November
20), Brandi: Prism in Colorado Springs does Queer
Storytelling, could also request a Speaking Out panel
from Rocky Mountain Equality, Roger: courtyard next
to museum? Or somewhere dark like Harper Lake,
Davidson Mesa
7. We could screen a movie in the library movie room
but the capacity would be less... could we screen a
movie at Relish?
8. Sarah: screening on regenerative farming?
9. Brandi: look into screening rights
10. If anyone has any other ideas in the next week - tell
Iris!
9. Mary Trebing sculpture (Staff) — Call for entries
10.Events Programming Discussion (Board) — 30 Minutes
a. Sponsorships — Old Time Fiddle contest was sponsored by
Scherer Violin Shop. Marshall Together sponsored the Block
Party music and Arcade Bus
i. Sponsorships aren't for event money, they're for concrete
things - like violins at the fiddle contest
ii. (but also don't say no to offers of money)
iii. Brandi: the city is trying to build better infrastructure for
accepting sponsorship money
b. Signing up to volunteer at events
