It's been another wonderful summer in Louisville! It was
great to see so many of you during our 25th anniversary
Street Faire season, at the award -winning Louisville
Farmers Market, community meetings, and around town.
In between all the summertime fun, though, your City
Council and I, and City Staff, have been busy working on
a variety of issues and projects for our community.
After eighteen months of community engagement,
planning, and research by City Staff and consultants, City
Council reviewed a preliminary draft Comprehensive
Plan in July. Staff is updating the draft based on Council
and community feedback, and we expect to see a
refined draft that the community can review and provide
feedback on this fall. Visit EngageLouisvilleCO.org to
stay updated on this project.
Last November, the City Council passed our biennial
budget for 2025-2026. We've been working toward
approving a balanced revised budget for 2026. In July,
City Council met to discuss our 2026 Work Plan and
held our annual budget retreat. The City Manager will
present her recommended budget to City Council on
September 2. We're targeting October 21 for our final
budget presentation and November 3 for final adoption
of the 2026 budget. These dates are subject to change,
so check LouisvilleCO.gov/Council for the latest info, as
well as contact information for City Council.
In an effort to provide the best emergency management
response possible for our community, the City is
•
Mayor Chris Leh
Ward 1
•
exploring the opportunity to
join the Boulder County Office
of Disaster Management (Boulder
ODM). Boulder ODM focuses on
disaster management through community preparedness,
mitigation of hazards, and disaster response and
recovery.
Three City Council seats — one from each of Louisville's
three wards — are up for election this year, with the
election set for November 4. Visit LouisvilleCO.gov/
Elections for more information.
Last but not least, please regularly visit Louisville's small
businesses for great fall deals and for your early holiday
shopping. Did you know that 88% of Louisville businesses
have fewer than 20 employees, and 97% have fewer
than 100? When you shop local, 70 cents of every dollar
you spend stays in our community — by comparison, less
than 20 cents of each dollar spent at a national chain
gets recirculated. Small Business Saturday is November
29, but all of us need to remember to support our small
businesses year-round!
We have enjoyed excitement and progress on many
fronts in Louisville during the first half of 2025. Our future
looks just as bright. There are some big projects on the
horizon. Efforts which have been years in the making are
finally coming to fruition. I'm so proud of our community,
so honored to serve as your mayor, and so excited to
see what we do next — together!
Leh©LouisvilleCO.gov
Caleb Dickinson (Mayor Pro Tern)
Josh Cooperman
CDickinson©LouisvilleCO.gov
JCooperman©LouisvilleCO.gov
Ward 2
Ward 3
Deborah Fahey
Judi Kern
DFahey©LouisvilleCO.gov
JKern©LouisvilleCO.gov
Dietrich Hoefner
Barbara Hamlington
DHoefner©LouisvilleCO.gov
BHamlington©LouisvilleCO.gov
303.668.3916
303.495.8219
720.391.5861
720.320.5539
720.724.5684
720.419.5030
269.277.7673
The City Council generally holds regular meetings the first and third Tuesdays of each month at City Hall, 749 Main Street, at 6
p.m. Visit LouisvilleCO.gov/Calendar for details.
