Get advance notice of planned power outages with Xcel's Safe for Colorado program Xcel Energy customers with a qualifying, documented medical condition may be eligible to obtain a medical certificate, allowing Xcel to provide additional advance notification of a planned power shutoff or notification of an unplanned outage as a result of severe weather, wildfire mitigation or other emergency situations. Leaf recycling When leaves are left to accumulate on streets and sidewalks, they can wash into storm drains and eventually make their way into our waterways. This can cause buildup and add excess nutrients to our local streams and lakes, which can be harmful to fish and wildlife. Residents can bring leaves to the Leaf Drop-off Site at the Louisville Sports Complex (1200 Courtesy Road) from October 20 through November 23. During that time, the site will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., seven days a week. You can also dispose of leaves in your Republic Services compost bin. Community Development updates REDTAIL RIDGE Staff continues to review Planned Unit Development (PUD) applications submitted by developer Sterling Bay for the first phases of development on two of Redtail Ridge's development parcels. The contractor continues mass grading of the roadways and the site pad locations. Utility installations (sanitary sewer, force main, water main and storm sewer) could begin in the next quarter. COMPREHENSIVE PLAN The Community Development Department continues to advance the Comprehensive Plan towards adoption, now planned for early 2026. The City plans to share the draft and hosta public open house and otherengagementopportunities in late 2025. Learn more at EngageLouisvilleCO.org FRONT & CENTER PROJECT Downtown Louisville is getting a glow up! The implementation of the Downtown Vision Plan, which was adopted by City Council in late 2024, has kicked off. Dubbed the "Front & Center Project," these improvements to landscape and infrastructure will breathe new life into our historic downtown. Staff estimates final design will be complete in March 2026 and construction will begin in in the second quarter of 2026. Visit LouisvilleCO.gov/FrontCenter for more info. McCASLIN/DILLON KING SOOPERS The City has approved a site plan for a new King Soopers Marketplace store located at 1171 West Dillon Road, the former Lowe's location. The location will start construction in the third quarter of this year, with a projected opening in 2026. Stay tuned for construction updates and an opening date. On the other side of town, King Soopers has also signed a long- term lease for its South Boulder Road store and expects that store to remain open along with the new store.
