As seasons change again, the City's Sustainability Division
would like to share some opportunities and updates with the
community.
October Costume Exchange
During the month of September, gently used Halloween
costumes for all ages will be collected in the front entrance of
the Louisville Public Library (951 Spruce Street). The costumes
will be upcycled at the Eco-Tober Halloween Costume
Exchange, part of the Louisville First Friday event on October
3 from 5-7 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the Library.
Fresh Food Connect
The City of Louisville, Community Food Share and Fresh
Food Connect are partnering to tackle food insecurity by
linking home gardeners with hunger relief organizations. This
happens through Fresh Food Connect's phone application;
the app aims to connect gardeners with community —based
hunger relief & food access organizations, or Operators.
Once gardeners are connected, they can schedule produce
donations directly through the app. The app will also
track donations and individual impacts over the season!
This program is a meaningful, engaging and easy way for
gardeners to share homegrown produce in Louisville, rather
than allowing it to go to waste.
Visit FreshFoodConnect.org to sign up today!
Share your
bounty for
hunger relief
FRESH FOOD
CONNECT
S'arro voo, backyard bounty
community
FOOD SHARE
0
Scan the code or visit
freshfoodco n nect.org
to get started!
•
•
Solar United Neighbors
This fall, Boulder County residents can join Solar Switch
Boulder County, a solar group purchasing program with Solar
United Neighbors (SUN). A solar group purchase refers to a
group of property owners using their combined buying power
to save money installing rooftop solar. Members leverage
bulk -purchasing power to receive discounted pricing and a
quality installation, while still signing individual contracts that
ensure the right system for their home.
The Solar Switch Boulder County will help Louisville
homeowners and small business owners learn about solar
together and purchase solar panels at a group rate from
a single installer. Together, members will learn about solar
energy and leverage their numbers to get competitive pricing
and quality solar installations. After a competitive bidding
process facilitated by SUN, Solar Switch will select a solar
company to complete the rooftop solar installations.
Interested residents are encouraged to join the waitlist at
SolarSwitch.com/Colorado for more details and updated
communications.
Help ensure energy affordability and
support Energy Outreach Colorado
Energy Outreach Colorado's (EOC) mission is to ensure that
all Coloradans can afford their home energy by addressing
the barriers that lead to the persistence of nearly 25% of
households struggling with energy insecurity.
EOC's many programs, including Colorado's Affordable
Residential Energy (CARE) program, energy bill assistance,
community solar subscriptions, ensure that income -qualified
households have the necessary support to afford their home's
energy. The need for EOC's assistance is significant, and
every year Colorado sees more requests than can be met due
to funding limitations.
Your support allows EOC to help meet current and future
demands by stabilizing homes and securing a brighter future
for families in need through EOC's services.
