ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS (ADUs)
In accordance with Colorado state law, the City now allows
accessory dwelling units (ADUs) on every single-family lot.
ADUs are secondary units that have many forms and are
frequently referred to as granny flats or in-law units. They
provide many benefits like enabling multigenerational living
and providing a more affordable housing option. The new
ADU regulations also provide a voluntary path to compliance
for existing units that may have been functioning as an
ADU. The City encourages owners of these units to obtain a
"Certificate of ADU Exception" so they can legally continue.
Without this exception, the existing unit won't comply with
city regulations. This means the unit couldn't be legally
rented out as a separate unit in the future, for example.
Celebrate September with
LOUISVILLE
HISTORY MONTH
Celebrate with FREE programs by the
Louisville Historical Museum all month!
Saturdays in September
Walking Tours on Historic Trees & Louisville's
Churches and Schools
Friday, Sept. 12, 6 PM
Legendary Ladies reenact historic figures in
Colorado at the Louisville Arts Center
Saturday, Sept. 20, 11 AM
Vintage Baseball Game at Miners Field, back
by popular demand!
