<br />Horticultural & Forestry Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />November 3, 2005 <br /> <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />work on narrowing down potential planting areas in order to determ ine the <br />number of trees to be ordered. <br /> <br />Discussion of the Arboretum's pergola/gazebo/shade structure/outdoor <br />education center: $21,000 is currently budgeted for this project, some of <br />which should be spent soon for a professional design(s). Mike suggested <br />asking Design Concepts to create a design as a starting point for a biddable <br />set of construction plans. Chris will ask Kathy make initial contact with <br />Design Concepts. <br /> <br />IX. Website development-see next item <br /> <br />X. Arboretum Tree I.D. and Xeric Demonstration Garden Plant I.D. <br />Brochure <br />Tim and Chris have met to work on a map and spreadsheet to make sure <br />trees are correctly identified. After the basic information has been added to <br />the website, the next project will be to identify the plants in the Xeric <br />Demonstration Garden, and eventually add that information to the website, as <br />well as produce a printed brochure. Discussion will be continued about how <br />best to label the plants in the garden for weather-resistance, permanence, <br />and clarity. <br /> <br />XI. Election of Officers <br />Motion passed to rotate secretarial duties each month: At the end of each <br />meeting, a secretary will be selected to take minutes for the following <br />meeting. <br />Theresa Rounds graciously agreed to continue as chairperson for 2007. <br /> <br />XII. The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 pm. <br />
