<br />Youth Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br />New Goals- <br />. Go to other board/commission meetings <br />. Recruit more people by having meetings with principles in schools <br />. Make a video to help recruit more people. <br />. Put an ad in the newspaper/ city newsletter <br />. Make a display at the library and/or Rec. Center <br />. Make flyers/posters for schools <br /> <br />Volunteer Projects <br />Community Food Share in January- YAB members bagged apples for charity <br />Father-Daughter dance on 2/11- the board decided to focus instead on the Heat <br />Relief dinner <br />Heat Relief Dinner- sign-up sheet was passed around for Y AB members to pick a <br />work shift for this event <br />St. Patrick's Day dinner for seniors- March sometime? Need more details <br />Other ideas- April is soup kitchen on the 4th Sunday- Hannah will arrange this <br />event is possible and provide an update at the next meeting <br />May is field day, might be in school? <br /> <br />Other City Boards Discussion: <br />Keegan- Historical Commission- stated that at the Historical Commission <br />meeting he learned our local museum won an award. <br />Alex- Horticultural and Forestry Board meeting- improving forestry books in the <br />library was discussed <br />Dylan- Resource Conservation Advisory Board- Discussed ways to be more <br />energy efficient. A new building development would like green points for energy <br />conservation- they will present a draft to the city council. EcoCycle contacted <br />Olga about getting Y AB support for a proposal to make building codes in the <br />future be more "green." <br />Phoebe- Library Board of Trustees- Superior/Louisville library use problem is still <br />going on and they think that they are getting close to a solution. <br /> <br />Eyes and Ears: The underpass to Monarch has a lot of Graffiti. Also the pot <br />holes around Louisville are really bad but Sherri let us know that it is important to <br />the city to fix them but they cannot be fixed until it is dry out. <br /> <br />Discussion Items for Next Meeting: Work group session will be on Tuesday, <br />Feb. 13th at 7:00 pm in the Library Boardroom. Hannah is bringing Food and <br />Phoebe is bringing drinks. Start making committees for recruitment drive. <br /> <br />Meeting Adjourned at 7:56 pm <br />
