City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> January 4, 2011 <br /> Page 5 of 7 <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilors applauded Mr. Blanchard, the Planning Division and the Planning <br /> Commission for their work on the project. There was a question relative to condition #6, <br /> and the wordage of "shall" instead of the word "may Mr. Blanchard explained the <br /> Planning Commission wanted to insure the first floor dining area would not be <br /> abandoned. <br /> There was also a question relative to the specific square footage of second floor patio <br /> seating. Mr. Blanchard explained it simply worked out to be 100 linear feet from the <br /> building to the nearest residence. <br /> A question arose relative to the second story window facing west. Mr. Blanchard stated <br /> the window in question was not a public area by his office. <br /> Mayor Sisk requested the hours of operation for the outdoor patio be no later than 12:00 <br /> a.m. <br /> MOTION: Councilor Sackett moved to approve Resolution No. 2, Series 2011, <br /> seconded by Councilor Dalton. <br /> Mayor Sisk offered a friendly amendment to delete condition #1 and #2, and amend the <br /> hours of operation for the outdoor patio to be no later than 12:00 a.m. Councilor Sackett <br /> and Dalton accepted the friendly amendment. <br /> VOTE: All were in favor. Absent:: Mayor Pro Tem Marsella and Councilor Muckle. <br /> BI- MONTHLY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATE <br /> Economic Development Director Star updated Council on the following recent economic <br /> developments in Louisville: <br /> Sam's Club Wal -Mart is negotiating with a prospective purchaser. <br /> Safeway Village Square Shopping Center. Staff has distributed the sales <br /> brochure to several retailers who would fit in this space. <br /> King Soopers plans to start construction of a new fuel station on a vacant lot <br /> adjacent to their store on January 4. <br /> Other updates included a second story addition to The Alley Cat Restaurant; the <br /> Boulder Valley Video Alliance production on Louisville's Art Walk; the Metro Denver <br /> Organization Summary and Boulder Valley Economic Profile. She also reported that <br /> Colorado Association of Manufacturing and Technology (CAMT) and NASA are looking <br /> to develop a park which would house up to 100 businesses on 200 acres. This <br /> Aerospace and Clean Energy Manufacturing Innovation Park is a long -term project, and <br /> when completed, will create thousands of jobs. <br />
