All in favor. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 45, SERIES 1999 - APPROVING AN <br />INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE BOULDER COUNTY <br />CLERK AND RECORDER FOR THE CONDUCT AND ADMINISTRATION OF <br />A COORDINATED ELECTION TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 2, 1999, AND <br />INVOKING THE REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES OF THE UNIFORM <br />ELECTION CODE WITH RESPECT TO SUCH ELECTION <br /> <br />Davidson called for staff presentation. <br /> <br />Nancy Varra, Deputy City Clerk, explained that the Intergovernmental Agreement is for <br />the 1999 coordinated regular election to be held November 2. The Agreement establishes <br />guidelines and responsibilities for preparing, conducting and for sharing the actual costs <br />of the election. The Agreement is the same agreement that was used for the 1997 <br />election, with minor revisions that reflect recent amendments in the election laws. The <br />Agreement requires the City to pay the actual cost of the County Clerk's services, <br />supplies, and mileage and to be paid upon receipt of an itemized statement. She stated <br />that Resolution No. 45, Series 1999 states that the election will be governed by the <br />Uniform Election Code, as opposed to the Municipal Election Code. <br /> <br />Davidson called for Council comments and questions. <br /> <br />Howard moved that Council approve Resolution No. 45, Series 1999 - A Resolution <br />Approving An Intergovernmental Agreement with the Boulder County Clerk and <br />Recorder for the Conduct and Administration of a Coordinated Election to be Held <br />November 2, 1999, and Invoking the Requirements and procedures of the Uniform <br />Election Code with Respect to Such Election, seconded by Mayer. <br /> <br />Roll call was taken. Motion passed by a 6-0 vote, with Sisk being absent. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 46, SERIES 1999 - SUPPORT FOR H.R. 2179, THE ROCKY <br /> FLATS OPEN SPACE ACT <br /> <br />Davidson called for staff presentation. <br /> <br />Heather Balser, Assistant to the City Administrator, explained that Resolution No. 46, <br />Series 1999 supports Mark Udall's Bill H.R. 2179, the Rocky Flats Open Space Act, <br />which would declare that the 6,000 acres compromising the Rocky Flats buffer zone <br />would remain as federally owned open space. The Act proposes to declare that the lands <br />owned by the Federal Government at Rocky Flats would remain in Federal ownership <br /> <br /> <br />
