Ii 12.08.240 Barricades and warning lights A. It shall be unlawful for any person to construct or repair any curb, gutter, or sidewalk without providing sufficient warning lights, during the nighttime, to be placed with a suitable barricadeor temporary fence around such construction, in order to prevent persons, animals, and vehicles from sustaining injury or damage. B. During the daytime, the barricade shall be maintained but warning lights are not required. 12.08.250 Traffic Safety Appliances Every construction area shall be protected at all times by traffic safety appliances, as prescribed by the city engineer, in order to minimize the disruption of the flow of traffic in the vicinity of the construction. 12.08.260 Interference with safety devices It shall be unlawful to damage, displace, remove or interfere with any barricade, warning light, or any other safety appliance which is lawfully placed around or about any street, alley, sidewalk Dr other excavation or construction work in the city. 12.08.270 Cuts-Disposal of excess material Any cut in any pavement or surfacing shall be made in a neat manner, with square edges and cornersr and shall be made with a pavement saw. All excess material taken from the cut and the excavation shall be trucked away and disposed of by the holder of the permit at the time the cut and excavation is made. 12.08.280 Damage liability Any person who undertakes work pursuant to a permit issued under the provisions of this chapter, or performs work under cons tract with the city or by permission obtained from the City Council in accordance with provisions adopted by the City Council shall be answerable for any damage occasioned to persons, animals or property by reason of carelessness and negligence connected with such work.
