Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 21, 2011 <br />Page 8 of 9 <br /> <br />McCartney stated he had not scheduled the road show dates. <br />Stewart recommended to send the letter to property owners prior to meeting at DBA and <br />BRaD. <br />Stewart asked for staff to send out the meeting dates to HPC once they are scheduled. <br />He then stated an HPC member could volunteer to attend the specific meeting. <br />John Leary stated he was bothered by a statement in the commercial incentive <br />language that related commercial to residential. <br />The HPC discussed the specifics of the language. <br />Fasick added there is a 10% federal tax credit for commercial incentives. <br />Koertje stated he believed the links in the proposed language cover the federal tax <br />credits. <br />Update and Demolition Request – Annual Goals <br />Stewart stated he was concerned about the number of goals being established for this <br />year. He recommended a list of priorities for the projects. He added he would work <br />with staff on the priorities list. <br />Koertje asked if the public was supposed to have commented at the City Council study <br />session. <br /> <br />McCartney said he would check. <br />Update and Demolition Request – Preservation awards, Preservation Month <br />Tofte asked if the preservation awards could be different than last year. She <br />recommended the HPC give recognition for the properties which were landmarked last <br />year. <br />Stewart acknowledged this as a good idea. <br />The HPC agreed. <br />Stewart asked if the certificates should be framed. <br />Fasick asked if Louisville was part of Chautauqua discussions. <br />Koertje stated the HPC has never been invited. He then added he would work on a <br />landmark properties award. <br />Committee Reports - none <br />Update on Demolition Requests – 908 Main Street, 701 Main Street <br />McCartney gave an update on the subcommittee reviews of these properties. <br />Discussion/Comments on Planning Department Referrals – none <br /> <br />
