Memorandum <br />To:Historical Commission <br />From:Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator <br />Date:March 8, 2011 <br />Re:Museum Coordinator’s Report <br />Mary Kay Knorr, Debby Fahey, Sally Burlingame, and Jean Morganrepresented the Museum at <br />st <br />theANFRM Volunteer Group meetinghosted by Four Mile Historic Park on Feb. 21. <br />It has been determined that we needto continue to have the Holiday Home Tour on hiatusuntil <br />a time when there are more available City staff hours available for helping to organize the Tour, <br />including in 2011. <br />I have been assisting a local author who is writing a book about Louisville by providing historical <br />information as well asimagesfrom the Museum’s collection. More information about the book <br />will be forthcoming. <br />The Winter 2011 issue of the Louisville Historianwas mailed in February. <br />Mary Jane Bradbury will portray suffragist, pacifist, and Congresswoman Jeannette Rankin at <br />th <br />the Library on Thursday, March 24at 7 PM in recognition of Women’s History Month. <br />The next History Book Club topic is “Saloons and the West.” The next meeting, organized by <br />thnd <br />Anne Robinson,is scheduled for Wednesday, April 6at 6:30 PM in the Board Room on the 2 <br />floor of the Library. <br />The volunteer interviewers and camera operators for the Oral History Program have started to <br />view some of the interviews, and doing so has been a very worthwhile and educational effort. <br />Iamhosting a bimonthly brown bag lunch and discussion of localhistory at the Library in 2011. <br />The secondbrown bag is scheduled for 12:00 to 1:00 on Tuesday, April 5th, with the topic “Main <br />Street Louisville” and featuring historical photos from the Museum’s collection. <br />th <br />Beth Barrett’s program on historic theaters in Colorado is scheduled for Wednesday, May 4at <br />7 PM at the Library. <br />The City Council’s study session with the Historical Commission has been tentatively scheduled <br />for the evening of Tuesday, June 14. <br />Museum Visitors Report(these statistics represent visits to the Museum itself, andnot inquiries <br />that come in by email or phone): <br />Februaryvisitors: 53; YTD visitors: 112. (Note: the Museum was closed on one of its five <br />public days in February due to the installation of the fire detection system.) <br /> <br />
