City Council
Study Session Summary
May 26, 2011
and they are the Draft Integrated Weed Management Plan, the Open Space
Master Plan and the Parks Master Plan that is currently being worked on. The
budget may determine if staff will be able to zone all properties at once or if they
will take a phased -in approach. The Mayor asked what kind of money is needed
to do this project and where does it come from? City Manager Fleming said it
could come from Open Space funds.
Susan Dellinger, GIS Coordinator, said completing the open space zoning project
will solve multiple needs for City staff.
Joe Stevens said staff has done a good faith effort to get to this point and now it's
time to identify the preliminary parcel numbers for the City Manager to review.
He understands this is cumbersome and can't be accomplished hastily. Ember
Brignull inquired how quickly should this be accomplished; all at once or a little at
a time? Council Member Muckle suggested doing a little bit at a time and
completing the larger properties first.
Going forward, Susan Dellinger said it would be important to ensure property
dedications in the future are done correctly with all supporting documents.
Update /Discussion — 2011 Single Hauler Collection Program Rate Increase
Tom Phare, Public Works Director, presented the information to Council on the
possible rate increase for the single hauler collection program which is in its
second year. The proposed increase would be to support the cost escalation
provisions in the contract and to provide funding the hazardous waste
management program, whereby Louisville residents could drop off hazardous
materials at no charge.
Mayor Sisk suggested the rate increase could support the hazardous waste drop
off giving residents the use of the facility to drop off hazardous waste materials at
no charge.
This item will be going to Council on July 19
City Manager's Report
City Manager Fleming reviewed the City Council advanced agenda and
recommended rescheduling the June 21 Regular City Council Meeting to June
28 th
Meeting adjourned at 9:35 p.m. — Next Study Session will be held on June 14,
2011.
