I am hosting a bimonthly brown bag lunch and discussion of localhistory at the Library in 2011.
th
The second brown bag took place onApril 5, with the topic “Main Street Louisville” and
featuring historical photos from the Museum’s collection. The next brown bag is scheduled for
th
Tuesday, June 7at noon at the Library.
This year’s Taste of Louisville, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for
th
Saturday, June 4this year. Consequently, the accompanyingannualHistorical Museum Open
House will take place on a day when the Museum will already be open (the first Saturday of the
month). At theHistorical Commission meeting in May, I’ll make a point of asking Commission
members to sign up for shifts to help with greeting visitors and talking with them about Louisville
history at the Museum, and asking Commission members if they will be able to continue with the
wonderful annual tradition of making Italian pizzelles.
The City Council’s study session with the Historical Commission has been tentatively scheduled
for the evening of Tuesday, June 14.
Museum Visitors Report(these statistics represent visits to the Museum itself, andnot inquiries
that come in by email or phone):
February visitors: 53; March visitors, 91; YTD visitors: 203.
