Planning Commission
Meeting Minutes
FEBRUARY 8, 2007

Staff recommends approval of the amendment to the LMC pertaining to the review of
preliminary subdivision plats and preliminary PUD development plans by the Louisville
Planning Commission and Louisville City Council.

Questions of Staff:
Deborski inquired about additional cost to the applicant.

McCartney replied the only additional cost would be extra time. He also said it could save the
applicant money because producing a final with more detail would be costly if the project were
denied or drastically changed.

Sheets asked what advantage the additional review had for the applicant.

McCartney stated it would give additional feedback and direction.

Sheets asked if the City Attorney had reviewed the Ordinance.

Wood stated the City Attorney had drafted the ordinance.

Members of the Public:
Rick Brew stated he had listened to the joint study session and the support for the ordinance
change would give developers the feedback they need before proceeding too far into a project
only to find out it has no support from City Council without major changes.

Public Hearing Closed / Commission Comments:
Sheets passed wanting to hear other Commission comments.

Hartman stated her support for the ordinance.

Deborski stated he had anticipated the review to be voluntary and not mandatory. He expressed
concern it would slow-down the project.

Pritchard stated the review should be optional.

Lipton stated he supports the ordinance as written.

Loo stated the review should be voluntary

Roll Call Vote:
Dalton moved and Loo seconded a motion to approve Resolution No.5, Series 2007 as presented
by Staff.

Pritchard offered a substitute motion for the review to be optional at the request of the applicant.

Deborski seconded the motion.

Lipton stated he did not favor the substitute motion.

Deborski stated he supports the substitute motion.

Hartman stated she agrees with Lipton.

Lipton called the question.

Name Vote - substitute motion
Jeff Lipton No
Chris Pritchard Yes
Susan S.
