My first interest is in the Revitalization
Commission, followed by the Historic Preservation Commission, Housing Authority, or Open Space Advisory Board.
In my profession, I have been an executive with 18 years experience in community design and development, and
transportation access and mobility. My career began with a feasibility study for light rail in Denver's southeast 1-25
corridor. I headed the start-up and implementation of a first-of-its-kind transportation management association (TMA)
in the Garden of the Gods Rd. and University of Colorado-Colorado Springs corridor in Colorado Springs. As a
consultant in the private sector, I worked with various communities planning for intermodal facilities, transportation
modes, and urban design features. Presently as the Executive Director of FlatIron Shopping District in Broomfield, I
oversee operation of the Zip circulator shuttle and administration of the RTD Eco Pass program for employees.
My education includes a B.A. in urban studies with emphasis in local government planning. With a commuter rail
station planned for Louisville and the opportunities for financing and preserving new and existing development I think
my experience and education are best-suited to lthe Revitalization Commission. However, I would be happy to serve on
any of the other commissions particularly as I am a fast learner and may have less preconceived notions - a plus!
I enjoy collaborating with and building consensus among stakeholders to promote
community livability - an interest suitable to any board or commission.
I look forward to knowing the suitability of my serving on one of these boards or commissions.
Sincerely,
Joanne P.
