BRaD <br />Meeting Summary <br />May 2, 2011 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />Troy Russ, Planning Director, announced his department will be approving the first administrative <br />SRU from Bittersweet Coffee for outdoor patio dining and bicycle rental area. <br />Empire Lounge had a “sold out” movie night last night paired with wine tasting and meal. <br />Chris Pritchard inquired if City staff was collecting “accolades” and Malcolm reported that Meredyth <br />Muth and Bonnie Star are working on it. Michael Menaker hoped that the City was preserving the <br />CNN video. <br />Shelley Angell has been working with Boulder County on the Hickenlooper Plan for Economic <br />Development. Shelley passed out the 2011 County Economic Development Summary for the Top <br />Five Economic Development Goals and Strategies for Boulder County. <br />Jill Midgley announced Arlin Lehman sold the Bronze Elk. <br />GENERAL COMMENTS: <br />Ron Sackett complimented the Coal Creek Golf Course on the good job they did in drilling and <br />sanding the course and believes the maintenance on the course is being handled better than a <br />year ago. <br />Michael Menaker announced the Daily Camera Business Plus section today had rerun the article <br />of the Louisville businessman manufacturing robots in the basement of his Louisville home. <br />Also commented that Old Town Cinema wants to schedule “movie nights” with a meal this summer <br />at the Steinbaugh. Michael suggested that this might be an opportunity for a sandwich place in <br />Centennial Valley to provide box lunches. <br />thth <br />Farmers Market opens June 4, and Taste of Louisville is scheduled on June 4. <br />rd <br />Lulu’s patio at council on May 3. <br />Food trucks – Boulder just passed an ordinance regulating food trucks – Louisville may want to <br />use this ordinance as a model if food trucks come to Louisville. <br />Can Public Works provide temporary signage for downtown summer events to direct the public <br />where they should park? Maybe also provide parking information to restaurants that they could <br />provide to their customers. <br />Steel Ranch – Rick Brew, RMCS, announced the extension of Hecla Drive will be complete soon. <br />rd <br />Boulder Creek Homes – Model home expected to open May 23 – the first of four homes is slated <br />for construction. Both Boulder Creek and Ryland Homes has had a great interest in the new <br />development. <br /> <br />
