BRaD <br />Meeting Summary <br />May 2, 2011 <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />RECon/ICSC UPDATE: <br />Malcolm updated the group that Bonnie, the Mayor and Malcolm will be <br />attending the annual ICSC Conference in Las Vegas this month. The City has been represented <br />at this conference for the last 5 years, but last year Bonnie was the only staff member to attend <br />due to budget cuts. The conference is the only opportunity that City staff has to meet with regional <br />and national reps from companies such as Home Depot, Lowes, Kroger and Walgreens. Meetings <br />have already been setup with these large companies as well as Jim Loftus and City and County of <br />Broomfield. <br />RETENTION VISITS OVERVIEW: <br />So Sound – Shelley Angell and Chris Pritchard <br />Located in Louisville at 917 Front Street working on patenting a therapeutic sound system that is <br />currently available to customers in a spa-like environment by incorporating this sound system is <br />products such as chairs , bed and flooring.The company opened in March in Louisville and is <br />happy with their location. <br />Runners Roost – Hank Dalton, Ron Sackett and Troy Russ <br />Located in Centennial Valley in the former State Farm building at McCaslin and Cherry. The store <br />is doing well and there are 3-4 other locations in the Denver metro area. Owner appreciates the <br />outreach and believes it to be a symptom of a positive business climate; likes the trail system in <br />Louisville and works closely with the Louisville Recreation Center staff; supports the trail <br />connection from CTC to the Coal Creek Trail. Runners Roost is one of the sponsors for the Taste <br />of Louisville half-marathon. They have been involved with Coalition for the Homeless and have <br />donated shoes to the cause. <br />ECONOMIC BRIEFING – <br />st <br /> May 21 Bike Criterium – if you need more information, call Meredyth at City Hall and she <br />can refer you to the appropriate person <br /> The Kasbah has signed a lease at the former location of the Market Place Bakery <br /> The Porch Deli, located at the Old Grand Finale building, planning for a May opening <br /> Alma Alton submitted special review use request for temporary food structures in front yard <br />of organic grocer <br />rd <br /> Lulu’s patio going to Council on May 3 <br /> Gifts boutique going into the former Chili Hut sometime in May <br /> The Rex is planning to open in May <br /> The City has received many accolades recently from Channel 9 News, Yellow Scene “Best <br />of the West” included Spice China, Huckleberry, Taj Mahal, Abo’s, Waterloo, Louisville <br />Cyclery, Vie Vie Luxe, Old Town Louisville and Downtown Street Faire. <br /> Sam’s building under contract with U-Haul – staff thinks this contract is not consistent with <br />the covenants and zoning for the development <br /> Meeting with Regal Theaters in May <br />th <br /> Centennial Valley Merchants planning an event for kids on July 4 on Dahlia <br /> Safeway under contract with Jim Loftus for a mixed use development <br /> Divine Canine is open or scheduled to open very soon <br /> Blockbuster space – 6,000 square feet for lease at $18.00/sf plus $5.55 NNN <br /> <br />
