<br /> I II, <br /> ""------, - <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 654 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 9 OF THE <br /> LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING <br /> A SECTION ALLOWING FOR THE SALE OF <br /> LOST, ABANDONED AND CONFISCATED <br /> PROPERTY. <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department of the City of Louisville <br /> often has in its possession lost, abandoned or confiscated property; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that this <br /> property should be subject to sale in certain instances; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE :' BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> Section l. The following Chapter and sections thereof <br /> are hereby added to Title 9 of the Louisville Municipal Code: <br /> Chapter 9.90 Sale of Lost, Abandoned, and <br /> Confiscated Property <br /> Sections: <br /> 9.90.010 Definitions. <br /> 9.90.020 Delivery of lost or found property. <br /> 9.90.030 Custodian of property. <br /> 9.90.040 Records. <br /> 9.90.050 Delivery to owner. <br /> 9.90.060 Escheat. <br /> 9.90.070 Sale of unclaimed property. <br /> 9.90.080 Distribution to charity. <br /> 9.90.090 Property and proceeds barred to owner. <br /> 9.90.100 Unauthorized removal of property. <br /> 9.90.010 Definitions. <br /> A. The term 'abandoned personal property" means personal <br /> property found or recovered by the Police Department or any other <br /> department of the City of Louisville and unclaimed by the owner of <br /> the same. Said term also includes personal property found or re- <br /> covered by any person and turned in by such person to the Police <br /> Department, which property is thereafter unclaimed by either the <br /> owner or the finder of such property. <br /> B. The term "1l1egal weapon" means and includes a black- <br /> jack, bomb, firearm silencer, defaced firearm, machine gun, any <br /> shotgun having a barrel or barrels less than eighteen inches long <br /> or an overall length of less than twenty-six inches, any rifle having <br /> a barrel less than sixteen inches long or an overall length of less <br /> than twenty-six inches, any gas gun designed for projecting gas- <br /> filled projectiles which release their contents after having been <br /> projected from the device, any projectiles designed for use in a <br /> device defined as an illegal weapon under this section, metallic <br /> knuckles, switchblade knife, and any knife that has a blade released <br /> from the handle or sheath thereof by the force of gravity or by the <br /> application of centrifugal force which blade when so released is <br /> locked in place by means of a button, spring, lever or other device. <br />
