<br /> . .L <br /> " <br /> I <br /> , <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 708 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 2 OF THE <br /> LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE, REVAMPING <br /> AND CLARIF'YING THE ADMINISTRATIVE <br /> ORGANIZATION OF' THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Ci.ty Council and the City Administrator have <br /> reviewed the sections of the Louisville Municipal Code and have <br /> ascertained that said sections should be revamped and clarified; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, the function of the various department heads need <br /> to be clearly defined and established. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORl\DO: <br /> Section I. Sections 2.04.040, 2.08.010, 2.12.050, 2.12.070, <br /> 2.l6.020, 2.16.040, 2.20.010(b) , 2.20.050, 2.20.060, 2.20.070, 2.20.080, <br /> 2.20.090, 2.20.100, 2.20.110, 2.24.010(B) , 2.24.020, 2.24.040, 2.24.050, <br /> and 2.32.050 of Chapters 2.04, 2.08, 2.l2, 2.16, 2.20, 2.24, and 2.32 <br /> of Title 2 of the Louisvi.lle Municipal Code are hereby repealed. <br /> Section 2. The following sections are hereby added to <br /> Chapter 2.08 of Title 2 of thE~ Louisville Municipal Code: <br /> 2.08.0l0 Duties and Salary Designated <br /> The mayor shall be the chief executive officer of the City <br /> and conservator of the peace, and shall have such powers and perform <br /> such duties as may be provided by law or this code. He shall super- <br /> vise the conduct of all officers of the City. He shall have the <br /> power to appoint special police officers as he may deem necessary <br /> to preserve good order and protect citizens or property in cases of <br /> emergency when council is not in session; but no appointment shall <br /> be made for a longer time than to the date of the next regular meeting <br /> of the counsel. Any and all such appointments shall be made in writing, <br /> signed by the mayor, and bear the seal of the City. <br /> 2.08.020 Presiding Officer of the City Council <br /> The Mayor shall be the presiding officer of the City Council <br /> and shall vote when there is a tie vote, except in passing ordinances. <br />
