Historical Commission Strategic Planning Session Meeting Minutes February 24, 2007 Goodhue Farm House 2005 North 11 ih Street Broomfield 8:00 AM I. Welcome and Review of Agenda Chairperson Donna Hauswald called the planning session to order at 8:10 a.m. Commission Members Present: Elle Cabbage, Virginia Caranci, Bob Enrietto, Dave Ferguson, Donna Hauswald, Alice Koerner, Diane Marino, Stuart Pritchard, Don Ross, Pat Seader, Aline Steinbaugh, Bill Unrau, Colleen Vandendriessche Commission Members Absent: Sally Burlingame, Dan Mellish City Representatives Present: Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator Meredyth Muth, Community Facilitator The agenda was reviewed and approved by all members. II. Review and Updating of Mission Statement The Mission Statements for the Commission and the Museum, originally adopted in 2002, were reviewed and discussed. The following revised Mission Statement for the Museum was discussed and will be reviewed at the next meeting of the Commission. The mission of the Louisville Historical Museum, a facility owned and operated by the City of Louisville, is to promote, preserve, and interpret the diverse history of Louisville from the time of settlement until present day with a special emphasis on the coal mining period, 1877-1955. The museum is dedicated to protecting artifacts and documents of historical value land educating children and adults about the past. III. Presentation and Discussion of City Expectations of Commission Members and Museum Staff Meredyth Muth reviewed expectations of the Commission members. From the City of Louisville's perspective, the Commission is an advisory board, reporting to City Council, and a governing board for the Louisville Historical Museum.
