Scott indicated <br />that it will be dedicated as e!arly as late spring, 2007. <br />Doug Grinsbergs indicated that there are some issues of erosion on certain <br />trails? He suggested that the staff should look at sheets of hollow shapes that <br />includes porous materials to prevent erosion. Scott indicated that he agrees that <br />there may be some spots where we could use this technology and asked for <br />more specific locations. Doug indicated the trail behind the recreation center is <br />the main place he is talking about. There is a company in Golden that provides <br />this technology. <br />Staff Updates: A memo was passed out from the City Attorney that addresses <br />the potential of off-site visits. <br />The City hired Ember and is looking forward to working with her when she starts <br />up officially in April. <br />Dutch Creek field has recently been reseeded. <br />There will be additional reseeding projects in the future, Daughenbaugh and <br />others. <br />Trail alignments issues and community gardens issues are continuing. <br />The Staff raised the question about whether there is a need to amend our board <br />bylaws to add an additional alternate and decided that it was not necessary at <br />this time. <br />Board Updates: Election of Officers. David Waldman was selected <br />unanimously as the Chair. Tom Davinroy was selected unanimously as the Vice <br />Chair. Mikael Anderson was selected unanimously as the Secretary. <br />A question was raised by David about the need for a better crosswalk at the <br />Davidson Mesa open space. This need arises because of the growing <br />inadequacy of the current parking at the open space property and the dangerous <br />crosswalk from the parking at the Leon Wurl Sanctuary. Scott indicated that a <br />yellow flashing light would not work because it is located at the crest of a hill. It <br />is a difficult situation. Better signage and a safety island in the middle of <br />McCaslin Boulevard are possibilities. There are no plans to expand the <br />Davidson Mesa parking lot. David Waldman made a motion, and Bret Harper <br />seconded to pass the following resolution: <br />Whereas, because the Davidson Mesa Open Space parking lot is <br />overflowing at peak tiimes, and because there is an adequate parking lot <br />across the street, but there are significant safety concerns because of the <br />
