Historic Preservation Commission Meeting Minutes March 21, 2007 City Hall 749 Main Street 7:00 PM Call to Order - Chairperson Heather Lewis called the meeting to order at 7:05 Roll Call: Commission Members Present: Mike Koertje, Heather Lewis, Greg McMenamin, Melani ulian Muckle, Laurel Tofte Commission Members Absent: Callan Childs, Maya Key City Representatives: Meredyth Muth, Community Facilita Approval of Agenda - Koertje moved to approve the agenda, Tofte seconded the motion. All in agreement. Approval of Minutes - February 5 Koertje seconded the motion. All in a McMenamin moved to approve the minutes, ent. Public Comments on Ite t on the Agenda - None. Harney-Lastoka Open S Location/Use of Ms. Downer's Cabins Muth introduced Rich Koopman and Carol Beam of Boulder County Parks and Open Space. Muth expre ncern that putting the cabins on the Lastoka parcel takes away from the integri landmarked site. In addition, the staff time and money involved in making the c interpretive sites would be of concern to Louisville as all costs for the project will be b e by Louisville. She also noted that the adaptive reuse of the cabins as storage sheds was an excellent alternative. Koopman gave a short history of how the County has dealt with historic buildings on Open Space over the years. He noted that the only time the County has moved buildings to a site was to use them for a specific purpose. Koopman added that the County has approved using the cabins for storage sheds, but has not approved any alternative sites or interpretive uses. Jean Morgan reiterated her strong desire that the cabins be moved to the Lastoka site as interpretive sites, one as a miner's cabins and one to display miner's tools.
