Reschedule the June 21, 2011 City Council Meeting to June 28, 2011 at <br /> 3 :00 p.m., at City Council Chambers <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br /> No comments. <br /> COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE <br /> AGENDA <br /> Mayor Sisk reported on the success of the opening of the Farmer's Market, The Taste <br /> of Louisville, Touch a Truck, the Half Marathon events, and a swim event at the pool, <br /> which all occurred last weekend. Councilor Yarnell noted last weekend also marked the <br /> Relay of Life "Bark for Life" event. <br /> Mayor Sisk reported on the Shopping Center Convention in Las Vegas, which he, City <br /> Manager Fleming and Economic Development Director Star attended. He reported last <br /> Friday a group of the US 36 Mayors, Commissioners and Staff members traveled to Los <br /> Angeles to observe the transit system of that City. <br /> Councilor Muckle reminded Council and the public the Street Faire begins this Friday <br /> and in two weeks, on Thursday, the Concert in the Park series begins. <br /> CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> City Manager Fleming reported on the following: <br /> The City received a petition from businesses within the 900 block of Main Street <br /> requesting 30 minute parking signage and enforcement. <br /> Money Magazine visited Louisville during the Taste of Louisville event, and <br /> interviewed several residents. <br /> Parks and Recreation Director Stevens and Public Works Director Phare were <br /> asked to comment on Consent Agenda Item 4D, with respect to the Recreation <br /> Center Mechanical System. Public Works Director Phare explained the bid <br /> amount was double the budgeted amount because of the material costs and the <br /> compressed timeline for the work. <br /> An update on the Sonic Bike Race held two weeks ago. Staff has reviewed the <br /> event and both the negative and positive feedback and will utilize the information <br /> to avoid problems in next years' event. <br />
